Terms of use

Last updated 22 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Amir Afianian, the developer of FocusBerry ("we"). They cover the FocusBerry app for Mac, FocusBerry Pro, a FocusBerry account and this website. By using any of them you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use FocusBerry.

Using FocusBerry

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use FocusBerry on Macs you own or control. You may not resell it, copy it for others, or try to get around FocusBerry Pro's licence checks.

FocusBerry deliberately makes it hard to leave a session early, and in Impossible mode you can't. Choose the duration and how hard it is to leave with care: during a session other apps, windows and tabs are hidden, though never closed. Don't use a strict session when you may need your Mac for something urgent, and don't rely on FocusBerry where safety, health or someone else's wellbeing depends on your Mac.

FocusBerry Pro

FocusBerry Pro is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription, or once for life. Our reseller Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all orders: Paddle handles the checkout, payment, taxes, invoices, and refunds, under Paddle's buyer terms.

Your account

An account is optional. You sign in with Apple or Google, and you're responsible for the Apple ID or Google account you use. Signing in lets your Pro licence follow you to your other Macs. You can sign out, or delete your account, at any time in the app. We may suspend an account that's used to abuse FocusBerry or its server, for example to share a licence with others.

Feedback

If you send feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve FocusBerry without owing you anything. Please don't send anything you don't want us to read, and never send passwords or payment details.

Changes and availability

We keep improving FocusBerry and may change, add or remove features. If we ever stop offering FocusBerry Pro, the app on your Mac and a lifetime licence keep working as they are; a subscription simply isn't renewed. We may update these terms; the current version is always here, and we'll say in the app when something significant changes.

Liability

We build FocusBerry carefully, but we can't promise it will always work without errors. We're liable without limitation for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and as required by product liability law. For slight negligence we're only liable if we breach an obligation that's essential to this agreement, and then only for the foreseeable damage typical of such a contract. Otherwise we aren't liable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country you live in.

Law

German law applies, without the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr; we aren't obliged and don't offer to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
